Gold Vault Inn
Best Western Hotel, now Gold Vault Inn, was built years ago in the city of Radcliff, KY. The hotel services not only local residents but the majority of its business derives from business travelers with the local military installation. Gold Vault Inn wanted to be the first local hotel to offer its guest high speed internet access, and wireless capabilities.

Earlier attempts with a local competitor made an effort to implement a small wireless solution, using home grade equipment for the front desk, and back offices. Because of the building layout, the vendor’s selections for the solution implemented, obviously did not work. Construction solutions years ago were solid and therefore, the walls were fireproof, block cement and very thick.

To many times vendors make a decision to use lesser grade equipment and/or fewer pieces of equipment. This is due to failing to assess the problem thoroughly or lack of experience. It also results in failing to meet the objective of the hotel and most importantly, the needs of the hotel’s clients.

Gold Vault Inn decided that they needed a vendor that was going to implement something that not only worked but that also gave them the innovative advantage over their competitors that they were seeking.

Client Needs

Advantage Technology Inc was asked to assess and implement a network system for the hotel. The hotel has 95 rooms, two conference rooms, an indoor pool, game room, and of course, approximately, 10% of the hotel is office space. Gold vault Inn wanted to provide internet access to their customers in all rooms and have access to run the hotel.

They also requested a website, and reservation software implemented.

Solution Offered

The solution provided by Advantage Technologies Inc, was determined after thoroughly assessing the needs of Gold Vault Inn, budget restrictions, and building layouts.

Advantage Technologies recommended the following:

• Implement Industry Grade Equipment.
• Wireless Access Points placed in specific locations to maximize signal.
• Implement Wireless Access for 100% of the hotel.
• Implement High Speed Cable Access in specific areas for 10% of the hotel.
• Development Team will create a website reflecting the hotel accommodations, services, and links to the reservation database.
• Secure the hotel database, server, hotel management computers and software to prevent security breaches and/or credit card theft.

Solution Results

Gold vault Inn contracted with Advantage Technologies Inc, and after the project was complete, they stated that they were pleased with going wireless throughout the hotel for the reason that most of their customers were not tied down to one area of the hotel. The customers could work now, not only in their rooms, but could also work pool side, in the conference room, or at the breakfast tables while enjoying a cup of coffee.

The High Speed Cable Access allowed the hotel to operate with maximum efficiency and provided business customers in specific locations with additional high speed access if needed. The Advantage Technologies solution provided to Gold Vault Inn proved to be economically feasible and most importantly for a hotel that had already had one poor experience, extremely successful. Advantage Technologies Inc successes with Gold Vault Inn lead to Gold Vault Inn contracting Advantage Technologies Inc as their Technology Vendor for the extension plans this spring.
